This moderate trail is the ideal place for seniors looking to walk, talk, and explore the woods with new friends. The group meets in the parking lot at noon, and dogs are also welcome to join the hike.

3. Leisure Luncheon

The Calgary Church at 707 East Beltline offers weekly gatherings where your loved one can connect and socialize with others his or her age. From now through June of 2017, they are hosting a 55-plus Leisure Luncheon event the first Monday of every month. Lunch costs $7 per person, and the event gives your loved one the opportunity to join the community and enjoy a delicious meal and wonderful conversation.

4. The Mishmash

Founded in 2015, this event is for people who just want to build new friendships and have fun doing indoor and outdoor activities like playing card games and going dancing. They host a beginner country line dance class every Monday night at 6pm at the American Legion Boat and Canoe Club at 401 Northeast North Park Street.
